AMERICAN LONG SHOT

I’ve heard that if it’s meant to work out it will.

I was leaving Lowe’s today after picking up some hardware type things so my friend could build a fence, and i accidentally cut off a balding middle aged man and an older woman. I looked at the woman, smiled and said excuse me. I took a few steps, then  got a weird feeling and looked again at the two people who I just said excuse me to. I realized it was my grandmother and my uncle, it had taken me a second to recognize them but when I turned around to say something they where heading in and had their backs to me. They didn’t recognize me even though i made eye contact with both of them, I looked at my friend and relayed to him what had just happened. he asked what we should do but we ended up just going back to the car to avoid the awkwardness of it all. I wonder if they where thinking the same thing or if they just genuinely didn’t recognize me.
